Summary:

An open collection relating to religious and historical matters. Murray was born in Ireland and emigrated to New York in 1818.  After graduating from Princeton Theological Seminary, he worked for the American Tract Society and in 1829 became pastor of a Presbyterian Church in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania.  Four years later he was called to the First Presbyterian Church of Elizabethtown, and he ministered to that congregation until the time of his death.  Included is a letter to William Burnet Kinney concerning the founding of The New Jersey Historical Society.
