This journal contains a court docket, 1810-1834, kept by Taylor
while he served as a justice of the Saratoga County, N.Y., Court
of Common Pleas; copy letters of Taylor’s cousin, Edward Taylor
of Cinnaminson, N.J.; genealogical information pertaining to the
Taylor family and a biographical sketch of John W. Taylor.  Taylor,
a Republican and anti-slavery activist, served in the U.S. House
of Representatives, 1813-1833.  He was Speaker of the House
in 1820-21 and 1825-27.
