Historical Note

The 38th Regiment of the New Jersey Volunteers was organized at Trenton and mustered in by Companies. Led by Captain Henry
S. Spaulding, Company “C” was mustered September 10, 1864 and left the state on September 20, 1864.

and tin plates and cups. Contains the autograph
signature of each volunteer documenting the

signature of Capt. Henry S. Spaulding acting as
witness.
