Scope and Content Note

The collection consists of a letter from “Sallie” addressed to her sister, Maggie, dated January 16, 1851. In the letter, Sallie reports the hard time she has securing new students, accounts for her current financial difficulties, and requests that money be sent from home immediately. She also describes in detail the activities of common acquaintances.
