Summary:

Letters written by Peter Wilson to Dirck Romeyn (1778-1779), a Whig minister from Hackensack and president of Union College in Schenectady, New York.  Wilson’s letters as a member of the New Jersey Assembly for Hackensack contain information on legislation and Revolutionary military affairs.  In later life Wilson taught classics at Columbia College and at Erasmus Hall in Brooklyn, New York.  Included are letters written to Archer Gifford, 1853-1855, concerning a biographical sketch of Wilson.
