Summary:

Letters, documents, written statements, and historical notes collected by Murray when researching the “murder” of Reverend James Caldwell, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church at  Elizabethtown (now

“A Memoir of the Rev.  James Caldwell of Elizabethtown,” read before The New Jersey Historical Society on May 25, 1848 and published in NJHS Proceedings, Series 1, 3 (1848): 79-89.
