Exhibition Opening Reception

2008-04-08

Join us on Thursday, April 24, 2008 as we celebrate the opening of our newest exhibition Feast Your Eyes: The Unexpected Beauty of Vegetable Gardens. Whole Foods Market is sponsoring the opening reception, which will be held at 5:30 p.m. Admission is FREE. To reserve your space call 973-596-8500 ext. 243 by Monday, April 21,2008.

The exhibition traces the visual appeal of vegetable gardens across centuries and cultures. Come learn the role that vegetable gardening has played in shaping the history, culture and economy of New Jersey, and discover why New Jersey is known as the Garden State.

\\\"Feast Your Eyes: The Unexpected Beauty of Vegetable Gardens\\\" was developed by the Smithsonian Institution Horticulture Services Division in collaboration with the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (SITES). The companion exhibition was developed by The New Jersey Historical Society in collaboration with the New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station (NJAES) at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Funding for this exhibition was provided in part by the Smithsonian Institution, MetLife Foundation, Whole Foods Market, and NJAES.
