Risking Life & Lens: Exhibit opening with photographer Helen M. Stummer

This timely exhibit introduces a new generation of viewers to the work of revered New Jersey photographer Helen M. Stummer, who in the course of four decades has braved some of the meanest streets in America to capture the humanity of people struggling to overcome inhuman conditions.

The exhibit will open at the New Jersey Historical Society, 52 Park Place, Newark, on Saturday, April 8, with a gallery talk by Stummer, who will also be signing copies of her new book "Risking Life and Lens: A Photographic Memoir" (Temple University Press, 2017). Signed copies will be available for purchase at the opening.

RSVP by calling (973) 596-8500 ext. 0.

The gallery talk and exhibit are free and will be open to the public Tuesdays through Saturdays, 10 am to 5 pm, April 8 - June 24, 2017.
