NJHS AUCTION AND GALA: BIDDING FOR SUCCESS

2006-08-08

On Thursday, November 16, 2006 The New Jersey Historical Society will host its annual “History In The Making” gala at the Pleasantdale Chateau in West Orange. At the gala, we will honor Randal Pinkett, winner of NBC’s “The Apprentice” and a leader in New Jersey community service, technology, and business and economic development. We will also honor Leadership New Jersey, an organization that acknowledges and challenges men and women who are not only leaders in the workplace, but choose to serve as leaders in their community.

As in years past, the Historical Society will host both an online auction and a silent auction in conjunction with the Gala. The auction is an important fundraiser for the Historical Society, and each year features a wide variety of distinctive merchandise and services, adventure and travel opportunities, gourmet dinners, and tickets to cultural and sporting events. We are excited about our plans to make this year's auction the most enjoyable and successful event yet, and our online auction will allow our fundraising efforts to reach an even wider audience of bidders.

We invite you to partner with us in supporting the cultural and educational work of the Historical Society! If you are interested in attending or donating an item to our gala, we are currently on the lookout for:

*Theatre or Concert Tickets
*Vacation Get-A-Ways
*Sporting Events
*Autographed Memorabilia
*Gourmet Restaurants
*Fine Jewelry & Art
*Spa Packages
*Hot Air Balloon Rides
*Dinner Cruises
*Wine Tastings
*Unique Outings

A contribution from your person or organization is tax deductible to the extent allowed by law and is an excellent opportunity for you to reach current or potential customers from among our substantial network of distinguished friends and members. With your permission, we will acknowledge your company and contribution in all auction related materials, as well as the program for the evening.

If you have any questions, please contact Vita Matusaitis at 973-596-8500, ext. 247 or visit History in the Making 2006 , where we will unveil our online auction starting October 16, 2006.
