Teacher Workshops

Consider The New Jersey Historical Society as a site for your next in-service training, or invite us to come to your school to lead a hands-on teachers' workshop. NJHS workshops give teachers an introduction to the rich resources available in our Museum and Library, and an opportunity to explore the integration and use of primary sources in the classroom, discover links to curriculum standards, and practice strategies for engaging students in a multicultural, multi-dimensional, and multisensory look at New Jersey's past. For more information, call Margaret Renn, Curator of Education, at 973-596-8500 x236.

Workshop Topics Include:

  • Satisfying the Core Curriculum Content Standards through Object-Based Teaching
  • Integrating NJHS Resources into Your Curriculum
  • Object-Based Learning and Related Assessment Techniques

The New Jersey Historical Society is a Registered Professional Development Provider with The New Jersey State Department of Education.
