How To Get Here: Accessible Transportation
NJ TRANSIT BUS:
Lift equipped buses service all local routes. The operator will assist you with all securements and seat belts as requested. Commuter routes also have lift-equipped buses available. NJ TRANSIT RAIL:
Trains arrive and depart Newark’s Penn Station and Broad Street Station on a convenient schedule. From either station, you can take the Newark Light Rail to the Historical Society. Call the Transit Information Center for more information. (800) 772-2222.
ACCESS LINK:
NJ Transit’s Paratransit service. Access Link provides transportation for people whose disabilities prevent them from using existing bus service or when accessible service is not available. Individuals should call to determine their eligibility. (800) 955-2321/ TT (800) 955-6765.
PATH:
The PATH Yellow Line leaves Manhattan from 33rd Street and makes stops at 23rd Street, 14th Street, Christopher Street, Hoboken, Pavonia-Newport, Grove Street, and Journal Square stations. The Red Line leaves Manhattan from World Trade Center and makes stops at Exchange Place, Grove Street, Journal Square, Harrison, and Newark’s Penn Station. PARKING:
Wheelchair accessible parking is available for a fee in Military Park Underground Garage. Enter off Center Street or Park Place. Visitors can be dropped off at either end of Park Place for ramp access to the sidewalk.
