Typescript diary concerning Civil War campaigns in North Carolina, September 20, 1864ju1y 4, 1865; scrapbook entitled “Rebel Relics,” containing military telegrams, morning reports, letters, and newspapers which document this campaign. Included are signed documents and correspondence of Braxton Bragg, Louis Herbert, Theophilus H. Holmes, William W. Kirkland, George E. Pickett, Gideon J. Pillow, William Henry Chase Whiting, and other Confederate figures. Cleveland was a private in Company K of the 9th New Jersey Volunteers. See donor’s series of articles beginning in NJHS Proceedings 66 (1948): 25-37, and concluded in 71 (1953): 136-41, 204-209.
