Summary:

Letters, scientific papers and drawings; letter books and financial accounts kept by Erskine as an agent of British investors in the American Iron Company, which owned and operated the Ringwood, Long Pond, Charlotteburg, and Cortland ironworks; estate papers, 1781-1782; copies of letters to Richard Atkinson, George Clinton, Cadwallader Colden, Francis Lewis, Robert Morris (ca. 1745-1815), Cortlandt Skinner, and Samuel Smith.  The collection contains none of the manuscript maps made by Erskine as geographer and surveyor general of the Continental Army.
