 Constitution, membership lists, and minutes of a Republican political club in Newark, established to provide support for Abraham Lincoln and Andrew Johnson in the 1864 Presidential  election. The club’s minutes were kept by its secretary William Nelson. There is also a poll list compiled by Nelson, giving names of eligible voters and their political sympathies—“”Union,” “Copper,” or “Doubtful.”
