Summary

Summary:

Bonds and receipts belonging to William Cheesman of Waterford Township, Gloucester County, and to his estate.

Biographical Note:

William Cheesman (d. ca. 1766) was a yeoman in Waterford Township, Gloucester County, New Jersey.  He and his wife, Sarah, seemed to have no surviving children, for in his will which was dated March 1, 1764 and proved on January 30, 1766, Cheesman left his nieces and nephews as his heirs.  He also appointed Jeremiah Jones, his nephew, and Samuel Blackwood, a friend, as the executors of his estate.  The latter withdrew from that role in December 1765.
