a shoemaker in Burlington County, New Jersey.
Enoch Middleton was a farmer, who also
made and repaired shoes in North Crosswicks, Burlington County, New Jersey.
The source of this collection is unknown.
This collection consists of an account
book used by Enoch Middleton from 1831 to 1856. Each customers account
contains columns for the date and the price paid. Middleton sold
agricultural products (i.e. corn, rye, wheat, apples, vinegar) and performed
such tasks as sharpening ploughshares, taking cattle to pasture, and making and
repairing shoes.
