Memorandum Book, ca. 1812. 1 vol.
Register of sixty-four American privateers and their captures
during the War of 1812, contained in William Thomas’s account
with the New York office of the Bank of the United States, August
25 – November 10, 1810. There was a William Thomas who served in
New York from 1809 to 1815 as a hospital surgeon’s mate and
surgeon, and another who enlisted in 1812 as a private in Capt.
Zachariah Rossell’s Company, l5th Regiment, Infantry, United
States Army (“”The New Jersey Regiment.”) The book
contains a stationer’s label of Peter A. Mesier of New York City.
