Founder of the Polly Wyckoff Chapter of the Daughters of the
American Revolution, Vann worked with fellow chapter members to
change the national Daughters of the American Revolution policy
of renting Constitution Hall “to white artists only.”
Much of the correspondence, telegrams, and newsclippings, in this
collection pertains to the efforts of Vann and the Polly Wyckoff
chapter to end racial discrimination within the Daughters of the
American Revolution. The collection also includes a
“Report of the State of Women’s Work” that was produced
while Vann was New Jersey State Director of the Division of
Women’s and Professional Projects, of the Works Progress
Administration.

(add) An addition to the collection is a photocopy of Vann’s
Second Honeymoon Diary, 1952-1953, which she kept while touring
France, Spain, Italy, and Great Britain.
