Historical Note:Paul Reeves was a bus driver for the Somerset Bus Company and Suburban Transit Corporation from the 1920s to the early 1960s. During these years he drove many different bus routes, which are reflected in the notations in his notebooks. He lived in Franklin Park, Milltown, New Brunswick, and Somerset, New Jersey. Return to the Table of Contents Scope and Content NoteThe collection includes bus driver’s licenses; bus tickets; blank lost and found tags; account book doctor’s certificate; member slips in the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen; earning deduction receipts; notes on bus connections; identification cards; notebooks concerning transit lines and his job; and 10 diaries. The diaries detail which routes he drove, special passenger notes, and personal information. A March 1921 entry details the death of his father and Sept. 1921 mentions him hitting an automobile in South Amboy.
