1268. AMERICAN LEGION OF NEW JERSEY

Primarily a collection of photographs and pamphlets relating to
the American Legion of New Jersey, located in Trenton.  Collection
includes a large number of unidentified photographs apparently
from Christmas Events and affairs of the 1940s as well as a
smaller number of oversize, identifiable photographs.  Included
are photographs taken at Camp Harry J. Jones, Douglas, Arizona,
1916; Camp Gordon, Georgia, 1919; a panoramic photo marked,
“United States Troops on the Mexican Border, Arizona, 1916,
no.27” and several others.  Also included are group
pictures of participants in the “Annual Pilgrimage to the
Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, . . . 1940 — American Legion and
American Legion Auxillary, New Jersey,” and several
different lunch and dinner affairs sponsored by the Legion’s
Auxillary and by the Essex County Republican Women during the
1940s.  Two pamphlets in this collection pertain to the
ceremonies and history of Masons (F & A.M.) in New Jersey.
