A miscellaneous group of papers pertaining to the business and personal affairs of Charles K. Wagner, a wholesale grocer; the education of his daughter Ida Wagner; and the domestic affairs of Mrs. James Suydam Polhemus. The collection includes two diplomas given to Mr. Wagner by the Spotswood Boarding School, articles of partnership, 1855-1892, tax bills, and account books, 1870-1892, of the Wagner Family’s household expenditures including figures for gas, coal, pew rents, house rents, food, and benevolence or charity; bills and receipts for the instruction of Ida Wagner in dancing, piano and general subjects, 1878-1879; bills for domestic services, catered parties and alterations to the Wagner home on Washington Street in Newark, New Jersey.
