Accounts kept Soper while he was stationed at Fort Umpqua in the
Oregon Territory. Includes “Time tables for enlisted
men employed in the quartermaster’s department at Fort Umpqua,
O.T.” for the years 1858-1859, List of Freight delivered to
Fort Umpqua, Amount of Fresh Beef delivered to Fort Umpqua,
Clothing accounts for Company “L” of the Third Regiment
Artillery. Journal also includes Soper’s own personal
accounting of funds, notations on the “cost of
housekeeping” and the accounts of Mahlon Soper.
