Scope and Content Notes:
Frank Bruen was born February 23, 1857 in
Dayton, Ohio. He later graduated from Cornell University as
a Civil Engineer in 1878. He began his research in 1892
when he began researching the Forrer(?) family of Switzerland,
and numerous related genealogies. This research eventually
led him to research the origins of his own family. The
collection begins with and introduction of sorts written by Frank
Bruen tracing his lineage from his birth back into England in
1209.
This collection was originally
processed/arranged into seven archival boxes, each containing
numerous files (folders). Since the accession of this
collection and the records of the original organization, the
collection has been moved and somewhat rearranged. The
inventory that follows has been copied from the original
handwritten inventory that is available in the data file. While
it may not be completely accurate in true locations of the files,
it should still be an accurate measure of what the collection
contains.
