Biographical Note
The Dod family originated in England around 1500. The family lived in Cloverly in Shropshire County, with later branches appearing in London. It is not known if members of the Dod family settled in New Jersey.

Scope and Content Note
This collection consists of a family genealogy entitled Pedigree of the Family of Dod of Cloverley, in the County of Shropshire compiled by Sir William Dugdate and privately printed in 1867. The volume contains a number of inserts, some are adhered to the pages of the book and others are removed, including: family trees (in English, Latin or French), drawings of coats of arms, letters, and copies of historical documents and signatures.
