and Content Note:

 

This docket contains Benjamin Smith’s
entries from the hearings held in his court in Hunterdon County from
1788-1792.  The entries include the plaintiff, defendant and constable’s
name and the date.  Occasionally the charge is indicated, however the
majority of entries note solely the verdict.  Smith also records when he
has received the defendant or plaintiff’s payment.  Also included are
entries for marriages Smith performed from 1790-1791.
