Historical Note
The congregation was formed from the presbytery of Newton in 1823 as a branch of the First Presbyterian Church of Hackettstown and became a separate congregation on November 4, 1831. The congregation built its first edifice in 1824 but re-merged with the First Presbyterian Church of Hackettstown in 1955. The building for the congregation still stands, but is now used as a senior center.

Scope and Content Note
Record book of communicants, baptisms, and marriages from this Presbyterian Church in Great Meadows, a section of Independence Township, Warren County. The volume also contains church session and membership records. The session records cover from November 4, 1831 through April 27, 1867; membership lists from May 1841 through November 1854; the baptismal records from April 24, 1858 through August 4, 1866; and the marriage records from December 24, 1840 through January 29, 1852.
