Biographical Note

Daniel Curtin was a Revolutionary War soldier who fought at Cambridge, Massachusetts. He was discharged on May 29, 1776 in New York City.

Scope and Content Note

This journal kept by Daniel Curtin from 1775 to 1776 measures 0.06 linear feet. There are daily entries, which vary in detail from “nothing important happened today” to descriptions of the fighting going on in the Cambridge, Massachusetts area. Curtin’s unit, whose name is not mentioned, went from Cambridge to Severn Island and later to New York where he was discharged on May 29, 1776.
