Historical Note
Charles E. Clifford worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad Company. Nannie and Mary Clifford, Charles’s mother and sister, lived in Bloomfield, New Jersey.

Scope and Content Note
The collection contains Charles E. Clifford’s deposit book from the Pennsylvania Railroad Employes Provident and Loan Association. The book records the amount of money Clifford deposited or withdrew between the years 1939 and 1953. The collection also contains a rail pass, dated July 16, 1928, for a one-way trip from Newark to Chicago. The pass is for Clifford’s mother and sister.
