Biographical NoteThe collection mentions two men with the surname Heuschkel, Frederick and Ludolf Louis. The relationship between the two men German-born Frederick Heuschkel seems to have served in the First Regiment of the New Jersey Artillery during the Civil War. Ludolf Louis Heuschkel married Miss Wilhelmine Auguste Anna Paul in Newark, N.J. on March 30, 1889.
