Summary:

Research notes, photographs created by “fire buff” Ted Vrana for his publication “Through the years with the Newark Fire Department.”  Included is a manuscript of this comprehensive history of the Newark Fire Department, typewritten biographies of firemen, membership rolls, 1889-1930, information on the various fire engines used by the department, photographs from the Newark Evening News depicting major local fires, 1930s-1950s, typescript copies of minutes and reports of individual Newark engine companies, and a chronological history of the forming of the Newark Fire Association, 1797.
