Biographical NoteSouth River is located in Central New Jersey near the towns of Sayreville and New Brunswick. Return to the Table of Contents Scope and Content NoteThis collection includes Programs from the South River Dramatic Club dating from 1949-1951, music programs from the East Brunswick Public Schools Music Department and The Paper Mill Playhouse 1961 production of “Flower Drum Song.” The collection also includes an issue of South River’s newspaper, The Spokesman from June 21, 1951 and a Graduation Issue of The Spokesman dedicated to the Classes of 1951, which includes pictures of the graduates from both South River High School and Sayreville High School. Memorabilia from South River High School include the school’s curriculum handbook, graduation trading cards from 1951, an invitation to the class of 1951 commencement, souvenir football programs, and schedule tags. Also, included is the Douglass College (Rutgers University) “Hornbook”, a college literary magazine.
