A collection of correspondence, manuscripts, and published books
by a prolific writer of travel guides and the editor and
corporate secretary of Forest and Stream magazine. In
1906, Reynolds formed a partnership with Ward G. Foster from
which the “Ask Mr. Foster Travel Magazine” and numerous
travel guides to Florida, Cuba, New York, and Washington, D.C.
were published. The collection contains business
correspondence of the Foster & Reynolds firm, the published
writings of Reynold’s parents, Charles Olmstead and Lucy
Reynolds, a primer for natives of the Micronesian Islands
written in Gilbertese by Lucy’s brother, Hiram Bingham
(1831-1908), photographs, bills and a residence directory from
Mountain Lakes, N.J. and a manuscript for the 1907 edition of Old
St. Augustine. An inventory is available.
