This daybook contains copies of orders and requests made to and by Hugh Hughes while he was the deputy quartermaster of New York in 1782. The orders and requests vary a great deal, but are often for such things as horses, hay, and bran. The daybook includes letters from Timothy Pickering, Baron Friedrich Wilhelm von Steuben, and George Washington.
