Biographical Note

The Ihne-Vogdovich family was a working class family living in Hoboken, N.J. in the early part of the 20th century.

Scope and Content Note

Consists of 13 photographs of members of the Ihne-Vogdovich family of Jersey City, New Jersey, including Walter Ihne, Robert Ihne (b. 1925), Martin Vogdovich (b. 1889), and Jaka Tvrdeic Vogdovich (b. 1895). Images include Martin Vogodich and co-workers of the Erie Railroad Company, Jersey City, and Jaka Vogdovich on strike with fellow female leather workers against R. Neumann & Co., Newark, NJ. Also included is a program for the Thirty-Sixth Annual Baby Parade in Asbury Park, NJ, August 31, 1927, and images of Robert Ihne dressed as Felix-the-Cat for which he won the “Cinderella” prize. Three trophies are also located in the Society’s museum collections.
